# BOWDUN OFFSHORE WIND FARM
The Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm is a ScotWind project off the Aberdeenshire coast, with potential to power the equivalent of 1.2 million homes and ambition to invest more than £1bn in the Scottish supply chain.

Bowdun Offshore Wind Farm is a proposed large-scale renewable energy project located approximately 44km off the Aberdeenshire coast. Developed by Thistle Wind Partners as part of Scotland’s ScotWind leasing round, the project aims to generate over 1GW of clean electricity — enough to power more than one million homes.
Bowdun will support Scotland’s net zero ambitions while creating jobs, investing in the local supply chain and supporting the transition from oil and gas to renewable energy.

Located 44km offshoreThe proposed wind farm site is around 44km from Stonehaven on the Aberdeenshire coast in the North Sea.
Power for more than one million homesAt full capacity, the project could generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of over one million homes.
187km² development areaBowdun will be developed within a 187 square kilometre area of the E3 zone identified through the ScotWind.
