Congratulations to the North East and East Ornithology Group (NEEOG) - winners of the Environmental Excellence award at the Renewable UK Global Offshore Wind Awards 2025. TWP’s Development Manager – Consenting, played a key role in NEEOG's work and was there on the night to accept the award alongside other members of the NEEOG team.

The Environmental Excellence award recognised NEEOG's industry-leading work, in partnership with the Scottish Government, SNCBs, and NGOs, to fund a range of schemes, scientific research, and monitoring programmes such as:

  • Long-term seabird population counts at protected sites
  • Comprehensive multi-year tracking data on kittiwake and auk species
    - Strategic regional compensation measures to inform policy and guidance
    - Consistency in assessing cumulative bird impacts in consent application

NEEOG is special in the fact it is a collaboration of twelve Scottish offshore wind projects. Regulators, statutory bodies and the wider stakeholders have all worked with us to tackle one of the toughest consenting barriers in offshore wind: cumulative ornithological impact. NEEOG sets a benchmark for industry-led cooperation on environmental stewardship.

Projects working in partnership. A greener transition, done the right way.
