SUPPLY CHAIN
Located off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland’s historic energy capital, Bowdun recognises the depth of expertise that already exists across the country’s energy supply chain, particularly within engineering, fabrication, marine operations, logistics and offshore services.
As offshore wind continues to expand, Bowdun aims to help Scottish companies build the capability, experience and connections needed to participate in future renewable energy projects both in the UK and internationally.
Supply Chain Pathways Programme
To support this ambition, Bowdun has developed the Supply Chain Pathways Programme in partnership with DEME Offshore, a global leader in offshore wind installation and engineering.
The programme has been designed to help Scottish suppliers better understand the offshore wind market and prepare for future contracting opportunities. It provides participating businesses with early engagement on project requirements, insight into offshore wind standards and expectations, and support to strengthen capability and investment planning.
The programme also creates opportunities for suppliers to work towards prequalification for future offshore wind contracts, including opportunities linked to DEME’s wider international portfolio.
To date, more than 60 Scottish companies have engaged with the programme.

Through initiatives such as the Supply Chain Pathways Programme, the project is helping companies explore opportunities to diversify into renewables while supporting jobs, skills retention and long-term economic growth.
This approach aligns with wider Scottish and UK ambitions to develop a strong domestic offshore wind supply chain capable of supporting the energy transition and creating lasting economic value.
Creating Long-Term Opportunity
Bowdun’s approach to supply chain development extends beyond a single project. By supporting Scottish companies to build capability and competitiveness today, the project aims to help establish a resilient and globally competitive offshore wind supply chain for the future.
Through collaboration, early engagement and industry partnership, Bowdun is helping create the foundations for long-term participation in Scotland’s clean energy future.

TWP’s supply chain development priorities cover two main themes:
- Macro and collaborative: working with government, appropriate inward investors, ports, supply chain and other offshore wind projects to create a visible pipeline of future activity to de-risk the required investments to create the right infrastructure & supply chain for a competitive offshore wind industry in Scotland.
- Local and targeted: utilising our unique relationship with our tier 1 installer to directly address institutional barriers to Scottish supply chain participation in offshore wind through our award-winning Supply Chain Pathways Programme.
